Faded Photograph

A few weeks ago, I dug out a huge tub of old photos. As I paged through albums, I remembered how much I like paging though albums.

So when we got our monthly booklet of Costco coupons and I saw the offer for 9-cent photo prints, I figured it was time.

I love digital pictures. I like flicking through files, uploading and sharing with friends and family far away. It’s quick. It’s easy. And aside from the initial purchase of the awesome DSLR camera, free.

But there’s something to be said for a photograph in your hand. I sat on the couch with my boy, flipping through the photos we’d ordered, we laughed together and went through again and again.

There are still huge gaps in actual physical evidence of our lives over the last several years, because even at 9 cents apiece, a thousand photos will set you back quite a bit. But I’ll have to watch for those deals again.

It’s nice to have the albums around again. That way I don’t have to have the computer open to feel nostalgic. Which brings nostalgia to that next level, don’t you think?
